About MIchael

We have been teaching dance to people for over 25 years, making lessons fun, easy and enjoyable for all who attend. Our Professional staff have dance and trained all around the world and dance is there passion. We will have you dancing in 30 minutes making you feel confident and looking good on the dance floor. I love to dance and pass on my passion by teaching others the joys of dance. It helps with fitness, movement, relieves stress and it is a great way for people to learn and communicate as dance is its own form of communication.

Dance lends itself to people learning to work together both as a couple and as a team.

Dance has also given me the opportunity to see the world as everybody loves to dance.

As I started dancing at the age of 5 years, teaching became a natural progression in my training. Learning new skills increases by actually teaching it to others as it gives you the experience of your mistakes and seeing it others. It enables you to become a better dancer in yourself by teaching others.

I have been dancing for over 45 years, competing, coaching, lecturing, judging in 25 countries around the world. A past Australian and South Pacific dance champion. Hold qualifications in the United States and Australia as a teacher of dance in Ballroom, Latin, Adagio, Tap dancing.

Have appeared on stage, television, radio performing and reporting on dance. It has been my life.

About the lesson

Firstly we sit together and work out their goals of what they wish to learn and put together a timetable and plan on how to achieve them in a timely manner, while having a fun and enjoyable experience.

I have taught students from toddlers to 90 years of age. People who have disabilities both physical and suffering with conditions like Autism, Down Syndrome, Parkinsons, Deafness and students who have been in wheelchairs.

Othes who want to learn for their wedding, to so competitions or have a desire to do dance as a hobby or train to become a dance teacher themselves.

It is very important to find a teacher that understands your goals, has the experience to help you learn and improve while creating a fun, relaxing but most importantly a positive atmosphere for you.

I teach dance and etiquette at the Capital Cotillion, where children from school years 3 to 8 come and have a night of learning social and dance skills. It is a great night interacting with young people, passing on my love of dance. It's fun to see them get over their shyness to gain confidence in asking someone to dance, enjoying the music while intoducing themselves and developing new friendships

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Typically it is the Who, What, Where, Why and How questions that students should think about before talking to a prospective teacher, as not everyone is right for each other. So being prepared is very important.

I always interview my students to make sure that I am the right person for the job, if our personalities clash then it is important for me to be able to reccommend a teacher that would suit them better.

Regading pricing for group lessons

$18.00 per class to drop in or purchase a 10 class card for $150.00

Private lessons start at $95.00 per lesson for a single or couple and drops to $85.00 depending on packages purchased.
