About Nadia

If you are thinking about learning how to dance and or use dance as a way to stay healthy, I can help you. I am a MFA Dance Graduate from Texas Woman's University. I also currently teach dance for secondary learners. Being able to share my passion for dance and to be able to see someone’s face light up with joy and wonder when they finally get a step right is an extremely gratifying moment for me as an educator.

Dance can be a way of releasing negativity and instilling positive attitude and emotions in your life. Dance as a way of expression of your innermost feelings and letting go of your inhibitions especially for adults. Dance can also improve your physical activity levels meaning better stamina and better health, too. It is never too late to dance!

I began teaching dance in 2003 at a local Non-Profit arts facility. I started with beginners Jazz and Ballet. In a matter of 2 1/2 years I was hired to run the dance department. This was the beginning of my love affair with dance and I have not stopped.

I hold two dance degrees, a Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts, and a Master of Fine Arts in Performing Arts. I currently teacher high school dance which entails Beginners to Advanced western styles of dance such as Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, and more. I also have more than 5 years experience in Musical Theater Choroeography. I also have 10 years in dance fitness experience as well as teaching group aerobic classes in various forms.

About the lesson

The first class is a 20-30 minute assessment. In this assessment, I will get a better understanding of what your goals and expectations are for dance class. I also want see how your movement quality is and from that moment we can establish a learning schedule to meet your goals, and dance expectations.

I have worked with extreme beginners who wanted to learn basic movements for his/her wedding. I have taught children 5-18 years old. I have also choreographed for 15 and Sweet 16 parties. I have also worked with professionals who wanted to brush up on technique or have not danced for many years.

My advice for students is to consider the commitment it takes to master the art of dance. Consider dropping your defenses and open yourself to the possibilities that dance has to offer. Not only for your physical health but above all your mental health.

I have been intrigued with TikTok and the dances that have been emerging on a daily basis.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should think about the time investment outside of class, meaning are you willing to practice outside of our scheduled dance classes.

What are your personal goals with the dance style you want to learn? Is is fitness and health? Improving technique? Learn a certain dance step/style by the end of _________ month/year?

Details

My standard pricing:

Once a week classes for a minimum of one month is $ 120 a month.

Twice a week class for a minimum of one month $220

Hourly Only: $ 50

Three or more months are up for evaluation in payment

Classes will include: Proper Warm up, Cool Down, Standard dance technique, choreography and or detailed cleaning and polishing and movement analysis.
