About Kya
I'm a college student, and I know exactly what it is like to struggle in certain content areas. From student-to-student I want to ensure that you are getting the absolute best help you can get. I love education and teaching, and value knowledge a lot.
i love being able to help others. It's the greatest feeling ever when things finally "click" for you, and I want others to feel this! I'm a double major in psychology and educational studies with a minor in sociology. I like to keep myself constantly learning, as you can tell, and hope to project that onto you! I have experience tutoring high schoolers, working with children with autism, nannying, and working in a classroom!
I'm currently a college student at Carroll University in Waukesha, WI. I'm a double major in psychology and educational studies. I've taken AP Statistics, AP Chemistry, and AP Statistics throughout high school. I graduated summa cum laude at my high school, and have made Dean's list my most recent semester at college. I have a cumulative GPA of 3.86. I have taken college-level courses in psychology, sociology, education, philosophy, history and more!
I've worked with kids in a variety of situations and age ranges. I started off as a casual babysitter and turned into a nanny. I worked full time as a nanny for an infant, all while also working part time as a respite care provider for kids with autism. I began more recently working as an AVID tutor and a teacher's aide at a STEM academy.

It's important to get to know the student. Why are they learning this, is it for a class? If so - why are they in this class? A student is going to approach a class they are required to take and dislike much different than a student who wanted to take this class and really enjoys it! After that, it's important to already go over what they know, and touch on how they learn best.
Look for someone you you feel you can have a good time with! It's really hard to learn the content if you are not enjoying yourself. It's important to make things fun.
