About Carol
I am a self taught cook and baker. I have been cooking ever since I was 10 years old. My first job was in a grocery store bakery. That was my first taste of baking and I fell in love. Over the years, I worked in chain restaurants, but it wasn't until I started working for Emeril's Restaurant in New Orleans, that my food world opened up.
I learned about fine dining and not your normal ingredients as well as the art of patisserie. I started buying cookbooks from chefs and started teaching myself how to create the meals and desserts I craved. That is my hope to teach any student, is that you too can make anything you think is only for the trained chef.
I provide individual attention to each student and share my tips and tricks as well as inform why we do certain things, so they are actually learning. That way they get more confident when cooking for themselves or others.
I am always a student and keep learning and invest in classes for myself to keep getting better or learn a new cuisine.
I enjoy making things with my hands and it's my way of showing love to those that are important to me by sharing something homemade with them.

I had many family and friends call or message for tips or how to do this or that. So, it naturally became something I started doing without realizing it.
I have worked in a bakery and in a fine dining restaurant. I have spent years teaching myself new techinques and styles of cooking and baking.

Get to know what they are wanting to learn and why. Once I know that, we can design a plan that will help them learn and have fun at the same time.

Look for someone who has done what you want to learn before and find out their style of teaching to make sure it will work for you.
Every week me and my best friend, who just found a love of baking, get together and do a bake night. He picks a recipe he wants to try and I guide him through it and make sure he knows why certain steps are a certain way.
