About Martin

We celebrate cooking with everybody that loves food! You don't have to be a Chef. Enjoy touring our US Presidential Culinary Museum while here or book a night and stay at the cooking school and museum to also enjoy spa treatments, our six-course breakfast, restaurant, wine bar, gelato, and Italian ice, olive oil and vinegar store, as well as your ten to 13 wines at the winery for a tasting (included)!

I started teaching when I lived in Japan and Hawaii for many years and then brought that as the Executive Chef - with me to Europe to teach there.

I was a White House Chef for many years and also a GM of the Camp David Resort. My wife and I have both worked with the Obama's, Trump's, Clinton's, and Bush's. I am a 30-year retired military veteran who worked at the White House Military Office. I graduated from the Art Institute, summa cum laude, have an MBA degree, and also am currently studying for a second Master's Degree at Lenoir Rhyne University. I will enter my practicum soon and Doctoral degree studies.

About the lesson

We have classes all over the world, in 19 countries, and we also have our wonderful classes in the countryside of Charlotte, NC!

I have lived on three continents and love foodies, home cooks, Michelin Chefs, and just farmers. You don't have to be anyone special with me.

I was so excited to cook dinner for 328 people and help raise $567,000.00 in one night for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about if you would like to buy any recommended textbook beforehand. I do not require them and only offer them as an option. Also, think about if you enjoy watching videos in instruction, using wipe boards, flip charts, and computerized teaching. I blend traditional paper with digital and conduct full, hands-on cooking classes.
