About Ryan

I would be happy to help you meet your learning goals. What kind of programming tutoring are you interested in? Is there a specific language you want to learn, some project you want help with, or an assignment or topic that you're struggling with? We can do collaborative coding, homework questions, I can help with code reviews, assigning resources for self-study, helping with interview prep or something else. We will work together to make a plan with clear steps that helps you meet your goals within the timeline that works for you.

I started tutoring when I was a recent graduate because I feel extremely lucky to have had the mentors in my own life that helped me get to the position that I'm in. I have a responsibility to the programming community to pass my knowledge to the next generation of developers.

I studied computer science at Northeastern University. I have been building enterprise-grade web and mobile applications for over a decade.

About the lesson

I start with a conversation about goals and how we can best meet them. If the student is ready to jump in or has their own plan, great! If not, I'm there to guide the process.

I have worked with students as young as 7, teaching them about file systems so that they could install their own Minecraft mods.

I have helped many high school seniors strengthen their computer science course grades and study for the AP computer science exam.

I am confident in providing tutoring to any student up to a college senior undergraduate level. Graduate students, please contact me to discuss your specific needs to determine if I can be of assistance.

$60/hour flat rate. I don't mind small questions over text which I am happy to answer for all of my students during normal hours - I understand the nature of programming projects sometimes necessitates an iterative process!
