About Ricky
I would like to teach to clarinet players of all levels and help them improve on their overall sound, technique, and understanding of repertoire. I have been playing the clarinet for more than 10 years and I would like to apply the skills that I learned to my students.
During my study at Mason City High School in Mason City, Iowa, I recieved verious awards and accomplishments such as division 1 soloist, outstanding performer award, and I have been selected multiple times to be part of the Iowa Allstate Music Festival where the most prestigious musicians come together and perform.
Over the summer, I become hired by both the Mason City Municipal Band, and the Clear Lake Municipal Band where we prepare and perform new music every week. These two groups are considered professional ensembles and are highly sought out by the local communities.
I am a current student at the University of Northern Iowa, where I study under the direction of Dr. Amanda McCandless. I am a clarinet performance major which means that my main focus of study is playing and teaching the clarinet.
I would like to teach you how to play with a good sound, a good technique, and a basic understanding of clarinet repertoire for all levels, beginner to advanced.
