About Barbara

Hello! I'm Barbara Reynolds of San Diego/Poway area. I've been in this area for 18 years. I teach private lessons, as well as many sized groups in the area of music.

Music is a wonderful way to help your child grow in self esteem and education. They will have better minds and better performance in their everyday work. During lessons, I teach techniques that are easy and fun to learn so that students can take it home and practice.

I've been teaching for 15 years in large classes to individual. I've worked with Kindergarten through High School. I'm familiar with many of the school in San Diego. I've specifically worked in an elementary school in Mira Mesa assisting the music teachers and helping students learn their instruments. I will bring those basic techniques to my lessons, so the students learn their instruments well. I have a degree in Music and Spanish.

I love to see students engage in learning their music. It takes many tries to get the right sound. I help student break the music down to the most basic level in order to build up to the right sound and phase. Then eventually, it become a beautiful piece of music for them to play and for us to enjoy.

Music Educator for 15 years. Served 4 years at Hage Elementary School as a music assistant. Guest taught choirs and bands at the Elementary and Middle School level. Produced shows, small scale and large scale at the elementary school level.

About the lesson

I get a profile on the students musical abilities, first lesson. I go through knowledge of technique and ability to read notes. The first consultation is always free.

Beginning and Intermediate students. Will pull in the advanced, soon.

All the great opportunities of teaching young students their instruments and the amazing growth they have in such a short time.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Ask themselves if they will commit to practicing their instruments consistently.

Ask themselves if they will be patient and just try to learn it. Commit to at least one year before they make a decision of whether they like it or now.

Finally, ask themselves if they will treat lessons as a way to grow in technique, but not use it as practice time where they were assigned the material but never practice.

I promise that we'll use our time wisely if you use your time to practice wisely.
