About Derek
I started helping out peers of mine in high school through college in subjects of chemistry, Chinese Poetry, and Chinese. I started teaching professionally in 2021.
I have a BA degree from George Mason University. My major was Chinese Foreign Language Studies. I have been studying Mandarin for 10 + years now. I am fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. I have experience teaching Chinese.

Teaching in general I have experience with 5-7-year-old kids and adults. With Chinese specifically, I have 1 experience teaching adults.
You need to look for a teacher who you feel is a good fit for you. In addition, you need a teacher who is fluent, still studying, patient, approachable, flexible, and enthusiastic to teach.
2021 was the 10-year mark for me studying Chinese for 10 years since 2011.
