About Katrina
For the past year, I have been instructing chess in elementary schools. I work with about 25–30 students in each class at about 6 different elementary schools. I enjoy teaching children how to play chess and watching them improve as players. I love teaching others how to play chess because it is such a wonderful game.
Everything about this sport appeals to me. It enables you to plan ahead, think strategically, and learn to change direction quickly. I enjoy seeing how my students progress in this game, and it makes me happy to know that I can influence these kids' lives in some way. I do this on a daily basis and never consider it to be a chore rather than a great joy.
