About Rachel
I am a senior at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in neuroscience and minoring in chemistry. I have 4.0 science GPA. I do not just help answer questions during my sessions -- I also help craft practice quizzes and exams to get my students as prepared as possible!
I have a younger sister and have always enjoyed helping her through her schoolwork. As a college student, I was looking for a job that was flexible around my own schedule. I decided to tutor, and I absolutely love it! Watching my students gain confidence in themselves and their abilities is amazing!
I am a senior at the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in neuroscience and minoring in chemistry. I have taken honors biology 1 & 2, chemistry 1 & 2, physics 1 & 2, organic chemistry 1 & 2, biochemistry, human physiology, human anatomy, intro to neuroscience, synaptic transmission, and functional neuroanatomy. I have a 4.0 science GPA. In highschool, I took AP chemistry and AP biology and received 5's in both.

I generally ask for background to see what topics the student has trouble with. Then, I start addressing the confusion by clarifying basic concepts for us to build on. I ask the student questions along the way to ensure a mutual understanding of the material. Then, I can either make higher level questions or ask the student to work through class assignments. I can offer guided assistance to teach the student how to think through various problems and come up with the correct answer.
