About Kyle
I am a former high school chemistry teacher (regular, honors, and AP) now in my final year of the doctorate of pharmacy program at UCSF. While I was a teacher, I engaged my students by creating lessons using the flipped model of teaching (online content delivery) and piloted the use of technology in the classroom for our school site. I am certified to teach English language learners, and have experience with creating engaging learning experiences and differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners.

I was a mentor for high school interns while I worked in a medicinal chemistry lab during college. At one point one of the students I worked with said I was great at explaining things and that she wished her teachers were more like me. After hearing that, I applied to teaching credential programsm, and the rest is history.
I have a single subject teaching credential in chemistry with CLAD authorization (teaching English language learners). My BS is in biochemistry & cellular biology and I have completed the didactic portion of a doctorate of pharmacy program.

I would first like to get an understanding of their current level of proficiency in the subject matter as well as assess their basic literacy and math skills because those are essential for success in the sciences.
The school I taught at was located in Huntington Park, CA where many of the students were English language learners. I worked with students in all aspects of learning because our school was very small. We also had a college advisory class where I worked with a group of students over the course of their entire high school experience to help them be accepted to a 2- or 4-year university upon completing high school.
