About Natalie
Teaching for a decade at the highschool and university level, I very much enjoy my family of students in facilitating them to reach their goals and pushing them to harder to see what they could do intellectually. I am a perpetual student and love that there is always more learning one can do to improve what you know. It is always exciting in the field of science and essential how we can apply it to the real world!
I graduated from Concordia College with a B.A. in Biology, then pursued my masters degree in Zoology at NDSU. I was granted a distinguished National Science Fellowship as I worked on my research on parasites in Northern Leopard Frogs and then went on to obtain my teaching certificate.
I have taught in North Dakota, Florida, Washington, Mississippi and Indiana due to our nomadic travels as a military wife and mother. I received a Teaching Excellence Award at Pensacola State University where I taught Anatomy and Physiology for 4 years. I have been teaching my own children via homeschool and recently taught Spanish to high school students. It was great to be out of my comfort zone and challenge myself!
I like to see the light bulb effect: when students have the ah-ha moment and it all comes together after their hard work.
Being able to have students apply their information to the real world makes it worth while to see how the learning is applicable to their daily lives.
Teacher for 10+ years at highschool and college level.
BA and Masters degrees in sciences, certified teacher in more than one state as we moved a lot in the Air Force.

Communication is key. Finding a way that a student can understand information is crucial so make sure a teacher is willing to see give you different ways to tackle problems.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Lay out your basic needs:
1) Specific Subject matter
2) Grade
3) Your current school set up and classes that you are taking/schedule.
4) Expectations from tutoring: Goals
Is it reviewing information from reading in text? Help with organizing thoughts/notes? Help in studying properly?
5) How much can you afford to spend for tutoring? Talk over with tutor before hiring so you can find best plan of action. You may need more or less than time with tutor than orinally expected.

Details
Basically I determine the needs of the student via initial meeting or contact free of charge. If Q/A type session, we can prorate time needed to solve homework dilemmas. Typically $25/hour in most situations. If we have regular scheduled meetings, we can work out a priceplan that suits the family.
