About Isaiah
Hi my name is Isaiah,
I am currently a Ph.D. student in chemistry. I have a bachelor's in Chemistry with a concentration in medicinal chemistry. I started tutoring back in 2020 as a STEM tutor. Throughout the years, I have learned that teaching others the topic I am most passionate about is something I enjoy. I try to put myself in the students shoes and understand the perspective they're using to understand a topic and tailor to not only their needs but their way of learning!
I have tutored for more that 2 years and I am a part-time teaching assistant for college level chemistry labs.
I was a junior undergraduate and there STEM center at my institution was looking for tutor. Due to my grades and my passion in the subject I was able to become one and help other students.
I have been a STEM tutor throughout my undegraduate education. Now, as a graduate student, I have taught general chemistry as well as organic chemistry labs.

The first meeting with a student revolves around getting to know them, their way of learning, and understanding their difficulties with the subject.
I have worked with students anywhere from high school, learning chemistry or AP chemistry. To freshmen and sophomore in colleges taking general chemistry and orgo.
Be sure to pick someone who you are comfortable talking to and voicing out concerns. As well as someone who understands and teaches regarding your learning style.
Recently I tutored a high school student, who was very passionate about chemistry and all of their other subjects. She was really stressing about her final exam and so we met more often during that week. After taking the exam, she messaged me to thank me because she had gotten an A in the course. But it was all of her hard work that helped her out.
