About Rick
Dr. Gillis holds multiple advanced degrees in biology and microbiology including a PhD in molecular microbiology from the University of Rochester. He has a very diverse background, having worked in both the medical device and aerospace manufacturing industries in the realm of applied science and engineering at the corporate level for over 25 years. Throughout his career, he has also been involved with diverse research teams at various academic institutions and has authored multiple scientific publications. He is now semi-retired and welcomes the opportunity to share his experience and passion of science and math to help prepare the next generation of students with God-honoring skills in these disciplines.
Semi-retired and began teaching at a private christian high school. I've been teaching there now for almost 3 years.
4 college degrees including a PhD in molecular microbiology.

I have taught AP Biology, Chemistry, and Physical Science at the high school level. I've also taught labs at the university level.
Make sure they has a deep level of expertise and is excited to communicate their love of science with others.
I was excited to take a group of my AP biology students to the regional science fair and show them some of the top students in our 4 state region.
