About ERIK
I believe one on one tutoring and mentoring is the is the best way for anyone to learn about any desired topic of their choice. I have comprehensive understanding in the STEM fields with a specialization in evolutionary biology. I have worked as a substitute at AISD and am currently an Senior at the University of Texas at Austin working on my teaching certificate.
I feel there is very little as rewarding as helping a student achieve understanding of a topic or subject. Its gratifying to be able to help people in such a fundemental way that broadens and expands upon their knowledge base and applicable skill that they can then use in their day to day lives.
I have always been involved in teaching in one aspect or another, however I would have to say I really began to invest in it as a career path in college with tutoring programs and Uteach.
I am a Senior at UT with a Biology Major and am currently working on my teaching certificate. I have substitute taught for AISD and have volunteer tutored in the past for the State.

I first try to gauge what the student needs/wants to achieve in the subject area by asking them general questions and then follow up with what the student struggles the most in said subject areas. Once we establish that we can then proceed with the lessons.
I have worked with all grade levels from elementary to highschool. I work best with middle and high school students but am still very cabapable in teaching elementary students.
Try to identify exactly what you need help with in which subject area you are looking to improve and use that as a basis to look for a tutor.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Some questions might recquire time and thought to be put into them in order to be answered and is key in developing skill in that subject area. It is best to try and work through such problems and to only ask the teacher when something in your knowledge bank is lacking or if you do not know the needed steps to complete the problem on your own.

25$ Twenty-five dollars an hour is my standard fee, however that is very negotiable and price can be lowered depending on the specifics of the assignment.
