About

Hi! my name is Meghan. I teach subjects under the areas of Microsoft Office (namely Excel), math, reading, lit & comp, test prep, and accounting.

I received my Bachelors in Business Administration and my Masters in Accounting at university. After college I worked for about 5 years in public accounting, and am currently working as a consultant for financial reporting, transaction advisory, and accounting.

Working with me is relaxed, supportive, and customized. I like to get to know each student individually, so that I can best adapt my teaching style to your learning style. Whether you’re starting from scratch or improving for work or school, we’ll take it one step at a time—and make sure it finally clicks. I try to make all of my instructions comfortable, clear, and adapted to your pace. I am a pretty enthusiastic / energetic person, which I think translates to my teaching style, and provides for a happier, more encouraging learning environment, with open lines of communication and plenty of room for questions and further discussions. My goal as a tutor is for my students (and parents) to see tangible results, while also building confidence and excitement around the learning experience, so that positive results continue to be achieved even after I am out of the picture.

I have professional experience using Excel daily in accounting and consulting settings, so I explain things in real, simple language—not overwhelming terminology. I also have a number of years of experience in teaching reading / lit / english, accounting, and test prep, ranging from the first grade through college level students.

Basic computing lessons offered by are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Chicago. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
