About Natalie

I am a retired collegiate softball player and played at the Division 1 level at Ohio University. I played all 4 years as either a DP hitter, right fielder, first basemen and catcher. My main position is catching but I excel in teaching many other positions. As a hitter, I was normal 3rd, 4th or 5th in the lineup and am known as a power hitter. When i work with younger kids I really try and focus on getting inside the ball and using their lower body as that's the main struggle as a child ages. I love helping kids of all ages learn their swing and the outcomes of my lessons really show in games.

I enjoy seeing the results in my students and their happiness once they tell me. I love to be a relatable coach who likes to have fun but still keeps it real and teaches new things everyday!

Once I graduated from OU I decided I wanted to help as many kids no matter the age get to where they want to be.

I have played at the division 1 level for 4 years and I know what it takes to get there and to get on the field. It's always a competition with someone else who's in your spot but most importantly yourself. I believe my experience also helps give a sense of what a student can expect as they go on to college for their athletics.

About the lesson

When working with new students, I typically allow them to show me their skills (throwing, fielding, catching, swinging) within the first 15 minutes. Once I see little things that can be fixed, I explain my thought process, demonstrate what I'm talking about and let them have a go at it. Once they get the hang of it, I will introduce drills that will improve their skills exponentially.

I have worked with kids from 7-18 boys and girls. My clients who I currently have now are 8, 12, 13, and 16. I have also worked with an 8 & under youth baseball team last spring with 11 players.

Some advice I would give a student is work hard always, you never know who is watching and the people they may know that can connect you to very good opportunities.

A recent event I am most fond of is my junior year in college where my team and I won the MAC tournament and went on to regionals and defeated Tennessee who was rated #10 in the nation.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I believe if a student has a question, ask it. It's better you ask it and get an answer from me then to second guess what you're doing. I am always open for questions and love answering them!
