About Emily
I am currently a student myself! I understand the struggles that may come with being a young child who doesn't understand something essential for school, and how frustrating adults and teachers can be if you really can't get something. I am in an accelerated math program, doing math classes that are well above my grade. I am going into 9th grade, and will be doing 11th grade courses. At my school, I would tutor the younger grades if they needed help with basic math and arithmetic. I won an award for the highest GPA in mathmatics for my class, and I am currently the president of my school's National Junior Honor Society! I will be happy to help your kids!
I love seeing a lightbulb hit in a student's mind after they start to understand something. It really is rewarding work to do because the younger generations are someday going to be making big differences in the world, and as a tutor, you know that they are educated!
I have experience tutoring before, and I am also a student in an accelerated mathematics program.

First and foremost, I feel that it is most important to get a child comfortable with me, so I would introduce myself and talk a little bit to them. Then I would just look at the work they are stuggling with and anwser any questions. Also, if a child doesn't understand the way that I am teaching them, I will make sure to explain different ways.
I have worked with many students, from young, gifted students, to students who are in remedial classes.
