About Amy
I am an educational professional with a Master's degree in Child Psychological Conditions and a Bachelor's degree in Family Studies, Human Development, and Psychology. As a practising Teaching Assistant, I work directly with students in educational settings and have specialised training in evidence-based interventions for language, literacy, phonics, and spelling.
I am passionate about helping students develop both academic skills and confidence in their abilities. My approach is patient, supportive, and tailored to each learner's individual strengths and needs. I believe that every student can succeed when provided with the right strategies, encouragement, and learning environment.
Whether a student is struggling with reading, literacy development, spelling, study skills, or general academic confidence, I create structured and engaging lessons that promote meaningful progress. My tutoring approach is individualised, evidence-based, and designed to meet each student's unique learning needs. I begin by identifying a student's strengths, challenges, and learning style, then develop lessons that build confidence while targeting specific academic goals. I use structured literacy techniques, explicit instruction, guided practice, and positive reinforcement to support skill development and long-term success.
I hold a Master's degree in Child Psychological Conditions and an undergraduate degree in Family Studies, Human Development, and Psychology. I am also a practising Teaching Assistant with specialised training in language, literacy, phonics, and spelling interventions. My academic background and practical experience allow me to support students with a wide range of learning profiles and educational needs, including Autism, Dyslexia, and ADHD.
Lessons are typically 45–60 minutes in length and are tailored to the student's age, ability level, and goals. I provide support in reading, literacy, phonics, spelling, study skills, homework completion, and academic confidence-building.
My services are best suited for primary school students as well as learners who benefit from individualised instruction and structured academic support. My goal is to create a supportive, engaging environment where students feel capable, motivated, and empowered to succeed.
