About Louis
I am 24 years old, and have been working as a private tutor since 2012, in the subjects of Latin, Greek, English and Maths, as well as French and History. My students have ranged from 6 to adult. I am also a CELTA-qualified EFL teacher with 5 months of full-time experience in India. I have special knowledge of elite academic institutions. For example, I have helped three students to gain entrance at Westminster School.
I have recently graduated from Jesus, Oxford with a BA in Classics and Oriental Studies. I studied the language, literature and history of Latin, Ancient Greek and Persian. I produced two high-quality, 2,000-word essays every week on subjects ranging from literature and linguistics to history and philosophy. I believe in a highly individualised approach tailored to the precise needs, interests and personality of each student. I have an enormous love and enthusiasm for the subjects I teach, and my lessons are as much about sharing this with my pupils as about the building of crucial subject skills that will bring them to the next level. When this balance is struck, learning becomes a real pleasure for my tutees. I am always learning new ways to make my teaching more powerful, and this is one of the things I enjoy most about the job.
