About Arnan

I've been tutoring students for almost 5 years, and I enjoy helping others love what they're learning. I've previously worked at a local tutoring center and later moved to private tutoring 1 on 1. In high school, I took difficult classes including 13 APs and finished in the top decile of my class. I was the captain of my school's debate team, championing the Ridge Invitational and coaching our first Novice State Finals team. I developed my own study methods for the SAT that allowed me to score in the top 1% percentile. I have two years of participation in academic research, and currently have my own academic research paper on Juvenile Correctional Education under consideration for publication in two journals. Honors I received include the Capstone Research Diploma, National Merit Commended Scholar, and AP Scholar with Distinction. I now attend Washington University in St. Louis, a top 10 college in the US, and continue to inspire pupils and students to love school topics as much as I do. I have experience with tutoring for SAT and ACT prep, AP classes, and grade-level subjects from 1st to 12th grade including Math, Science, English, Social Studies, and Spanish.

I love to see the moment when my students realize they understand what they previously could not, and that they have the potential to understand more if they put in the work and dedication. Nothing gives me better satisfaction than to see my students succeed, and I believe my tutoring services provide a solid foundation for that future success.

My first ever tutoring student was actually my younger brother who is 5 years younger than me, and I would occasionally help explain math problems he didn't understand. I later discovered my passion for individual instruction and applied for a tutoring position at a local center during my freshman year in high school, and I've only grown to love it more.

About the lesson

My primary student pool have been middle and high school students, and I've also worked with a plethora of particular cases, including ESL, low-income, and special needs children.

Communication is key. If you are looking for help with something specific, make sure to say that, and if you are working with a tutor, make sure you speak your mind if you still do not understand something or need additional help in a certain area.

I have a standard rate of $20/hour, but I have significant experience working with students with financial situations in their families, and I am always willing to work with my students on this if need be to make sure they are able to receive a good instruction for a price they can afford.
