About AARON

Hey everyone!! Thank you for taking the time to look at this posting.

I started teaching guitar some years ago on a whim and just never stopped. I've had the opportunity to teach students from many walks of life and disabilities in many different styles although if you're looking for a classical class, Im not your guy.

I can teach acoustic or electric up to an advanced intermediate level. that basically means that I can get you to a place where you have the knowhow to look at any piece of music info and understand it to push into the advanced levels on your own and with the tools you need to succeed. This includes the necesary theory and technique to get you anywhere you want to go.

Kids or adults are welcome, and I look forward to as many "Aha!" moments as we can get to happen.

No nonsense teaching method, If I dont have the answer to a question, I will tell you, find the answer or refer you to someone better than myself.

I was a Tae Kwon Do teacher and studying music so I occasionally brought a guitar I needed to stow in a closet before class. Some of the parents asked if I taught and thus the guitar section of my teaching life began.

About the lesson

New Students will get the same basic first couple of lessons and then curriculum will be made on the spot with your goals and interests in mind.

If you've had lessons in the past it's a bit more question and answery a process until I get a good idea of where you are in the process.

I have taught kids as young as 4 and adults as old 53.

Ive worked with various learning disabilities and attention spans as well as physical limitations

For someone getting into a musical endeavor I would say

1: try to find an instrument that stays in tune, you dont have to break the bank with your first guitar, but if it doesnt sound kind of good and stay in tune it gets very frustrating for the student and the spark of fun dies very early as they fight gear.

2: Inspiration comes and goes, but discipline gets you where you want to go. We all see our favorite artists playing things effortlessly and get inspired. But that effortlessness typically comes from hours of practice that doesnt sound good. Learning to enjoy the process isnt a drudgery, but the process is a reality

3: Play things that inspire you, the first few songs you learn will be a hard road. But even if you give up and switch to another song or technical skill, there will be a stacking effect with the time spent in practice and experience with every endeavor. The next one gets easier, then the next is learned faster and presents a new technical diffulty to be learned and perfected, that starts hard, then gets easier. Enjoy the process
