About Julia
I have a passion for helping children reach their academic potential. My experience includes helping in classrooms and tutoring elementary school-aged children in art, literature, math, and social studies. I graduated from college with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (concentrations in Marketing and Operations & Supply Chain Management) and a minor in Communication Studies.
I truly enjoy seeing the look of accomplishment and success on a child's face when they finally figure out how to solve a problem or learn how to work through a tough subject. I love being able to help a student realize their academic potential. Assisting them in building their confidence gives me great joy.
I have experience tutoring children in 2nd - 7th grade. Additionally, I periodically worked as a classroom aid in elementary and middle school classrooms where I would help students in groups and individually with their work. I come from a family full of teachers and have picked up many lessons on educating students and learning techniques from them over the years.

Most critically, I begin by building a rapport with the students. I believe that this is necessary for students feeling comfortable asking questions about the subjects and work that we will be discussing. I meet with the students (and parents if desired) to outline the goals for success and to create an individualized road map to achieving these goals.
