About JOshua
Highly experienced tutor in French, Spanish, English, university and school applications and Oxbridge admissions.My students have been admitted to, and are studying at, the world's top schools and universities -- including Eton, Westminster, St Paul's, City, St Andrew's University, Oxbridge and the Ivy League.
Education: I studied French and Spanish at Oxford University (BA) and International Relations at Yale University (MA), where I was funded as a Yale University Fellow and a Teaching Fellow. I also hold a diploma in French language, history and politics from La Sorbonne in Paris, and a diploma in Spanish language from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid
Teaching Experience: At Yale I taught weekly classes in history and politics to classes of 15 students studying for BAs, marked all their essays and work and gave individual tuition to students who required it.
I worked as a private tutor in London and Paris, previously, helping clients improve grades, confidence and interest in their work. I have also worked for Oxbridge Admissions, giving mock interviews and application tuition to students.
Skills: I am qualified to tutor English, French, Spanish, politics and international relations, as well as Oxbridge admissions and admissions to universities in the United States. I have particular experience of writing and preparing for personal statements and interviews.
Besides tutoring, I work as a freelance writer. I have been published in The Washington Post, The Financial Times, The Atlantic, The Los Angeles Review of Books, Haaretz, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Tablet Magazine and Reuters Foundation. I previously worked as a speechwriter in the UK Parliament writing speeches and research briefings and reported for The Wall Street Journal in Paris.
