I am an experienced teacher and tutor with a wealth of experience. Currently, I am working in a successful secondary school with KS4 and 3 students. Previously, I have worked in education and behaviour management. This experience has given me a wide range of skills in helping to encourage and enthuse all types of young people from the disaffected student to the student with low self confidence and belief.
Teaching is a passion and it has been my lifelong career. I move forward, embracing the changes and always priding myself on gaining full knowledge of the changes to GCSE whilst offering the stability of a thorough understanding of the foundations of quality English written work and communication.
In addition, I have worked in a range of establishments including work abroad. This has given me the additional skill of being able to teach students whose first language is not English. I have past and current roles as an external GCSE examiner. I currently work for Aqa for English GCSE and OCR as a examiner for international A level.
I am flexible in my approach. It is important to prepare tutor sessions to meet the individual's needs. It is important to work with students to understand their needs and their shortcomings and then to tailor and structure sessions to their specific requirements. This is the joy of tutoring: the individual student is the central focus of the planning, delivery and leaning.
