About Alex
believe in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that caters to the individual needs of each student. I have multiple years of experience in the field, including as an Infrastructure Automation Engineer, Founding Software Engineer at an AI marketing start-up, and as a freelance programmer including automating financial securities trading scripts, building websites, etc. I graduated from the City University of New York with a Bachelor's in Computer Science, with a 3.99 GPA. I additionally completed a Data Science fellowship through the CTP program.
I have multiple years of experience in tutoring all undergraduate computer science courses, as well as high school level AP Computer Science A and Principles. Subjects I offer include introductory programming/computer science courses, Python, Java, C, C++, databases/SQL, JavaScript, assembly (MIPS, x86, MASM, etc.), Terraform, CSS, HTML, as well as all theory-based courses including theory of computation, discrete math, discrete structures, operating systems, data structures, algorithms, data science, machine learning, etc.
I am particularly adept at troubleshooting code and helping complete projects/assignments, but can also provide thorough guidance in understanding concepts in order to improve test scores. I furthermore offer tutoring to those not currently in school but want to learn software development from the ground up, including those already in the field who would like to refine their skills. I have experience in both backend and frontend development, automation including infrastructure automation, most major libraries including NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib, Node.js, FastAPI, TensorFlow, PyTorch, JUnit, PyTest, JDBC, React, SQLAlchemy, among others. I can also offer cloud-based guidance including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and GCP. I can additionally provide assistance and instruction in the general use of computers and software including providing tech support.
