About Dylan
As a vocalist and writer, I love helping students express their true selves through the power of music. I have over four years of teaching experience and hold a Bachelor of Music in Songwriting with voice as my primary instrument. My lessons bring modern technology into the studio, including DAWs, vocal processors, and professional studio mics.
We focus on exciting skills like vocal looping, live electronic performance, and creating beautiful, layered vocal arrangements. For instance, I recently helped an aspiring recording artist record their first acoustic pop track using live loops. We worked on layering their background harmonies, which completely changed how they approached their songwriting process.
I teach a variety of genres, with a special focus on rhythm and blues, soul, acoustic pop, and contemporary Christian music. Together, we will dive deep into lyric interpretation, tone shaping, close harmonies, and natural phrasing. I welcome both casual hobbyists who want to sing for fun and serious artists preparing for their next release.

My lessons focus on developing excellent vocal dexterity and control so you can sing with effortless grace. We spend a lot of time working on vocal agility, runs and riffs, and mastering the art of melisma. I help you break down complex vocal passages into small, manageable steps.
For example, I recently worked with an acoustic instrumentalist who wanted to add fast vocal ornaments to their traditional folk tunes. We practiced slow scale patterns first to build physical control before speeding them up. Soon, they were executing fast, clean runs while playing their instrument without losing their breath.
I also work quite often with small group harmony singers who need to sing intricate lines without overpowering their partners. We practice fine tuning your pitch and control so your voice moves smoothly and accurately through tight chord structures. This specific training ensures that your embellishments sound clean, natural, and completely professional.
I am fully committed to supporting you as you master these advanced techniques and excel in your musical journey. You will learn how to transition between notes with complete accuracy and freedom. We will also focus on building vocal stamina so your voice stays healthy and strong. Together, we can transform your approach to singing and make those challenging lines feel easy.
