About Jodie
I am an English teacher and tutor with over six years experience of teaching GCSE students. I believe in a holistic approach to teaching and feel that students learn best when they are relaxed, yet feel secure. I am friendly and personable, aiming for students to feel at ease in letting me know if there is anything they do not understand and to feel that they can ask questions at any time. I am experienced in teaching SEND students and those suffering anxiety.

My lessons are an hour long and will start by identifying a student's individual needs. The lessons will look at the set texts, reading unseen extracts, comprehension questions and worksheets, creative writing and transactional writing. For the language paper, we will focus on the analysis of language devices, structural devices and comparison techniques. The lessons will use exam-style questions for practice, PETAZL paragraph structure for analytical writing and include timed tasks to build confidence and make the student aware of the relevant mark schemes.
