About Alexandra
I hold a B.S. in English Education from Boston University and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Southern New Hampshire University. I have spent over 6 years working with secondary-aged students to develop their critical literacy and writing skills to help them feel confident in their communication abilities. When I'm not teaching, you can find me reading all kinds of books and spending time with my cats (aka, my teaching assistants).

I am an experienced secondary English teacher with a focus on providing adaptive, flexible, and effective instruction to help students meet their reading and writing goals. I am an expert in crafting targeted instructional lessons that will meet the needs of each student. I am patient and easy-going, but I have high expectations for my students and I will hold you to them. In a typical lesson, you can expect me to ask about your learning goals and clarifying questions to make sure you are able to meet them with me. I will then use strategies like questioning and positive reinforcement to help you achieve the desired learning goals. I specialize in middle and high school students, but I am also available to help older individuals who would like to strengthen their basic or intermediate literacy skills.
