About Eliza
I am a passionate educator with a demonstrated ability to cultivate meaningful relationships with students that lead to increased student motivation and academic success. I design standards-aligned, culturally affirming lessons and create a classroom environment which enables students to draw on their own life experiences, inspired by a belief that education should prepare students with skills that are relevant to their lives beyond the classroom. I am committed to educational equity and seek ways to close the opportunity gap for the students through Universal Design methods, a commitment to community that focuses on expanding student networks, and through supporting students with academics and socio-emotional needs.

I lead inquiry based lessons adapted around student needs and interests. I guide discussions and analysis that encourage students to probe deeper to understand texts and apply their understandings to broader, thematic lessons which they can apply to their own lives.
Students will learn how to create strong questions about material that allow them to think critically and apply the skills they hope to hone, including textual and historical analysis and improved writing abilities.
