About Libby
Hello! I'm Libby, an experienced Science educator with a degree in Biochemistry and a passion for helping students build confidence and achieve their potential in Biology.
I taught secondary Science from 2019 to 2024. During this time, I supported students with a wide range of abilities and developed a strong understanding of the GCSE curriculum, assessment and the challenges many students face.
I now work as a Curriculum Designer at Keele University, where I support the development of university programmes and assessments. Alongside this, I am a GCSE Science Assessment Associate, marking GCSE examination papers, which helps me stay up to date with current assessment standards and exam expectations.
Whether you're looking to build confidence, improve your understanding of difficult topics or prepare for your GCSE exams, my aim is to create a supportive environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and making progress.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs, whether they are looking to build confidence, strengthen their understanding of key concepts, improve exam technique or work towards a specific target grade.
I use a combination of clear explanations, questioning, worked examples and exam practice to help students develop a deeper understanding of Biology. A typical lesson will begin by identifying areas the student would like to focus on or reviewing previous learning, before moving into explanation, discussion and guided practice. We will then apply this knowledge through exam-style questions, where I support students to develop the skills needed to interpret questions, structure answers effectively and understand how marks are awarded.
Lessons are usually 60 minutes long and are delivered online. I adapt the pace and content of each lesson depending on the student’s confidence, prior knowledge and goals.
