About Emily
I have worked in education since 2017 and genuinely love seeing children develop confidence in themselves and their abilities. Alongside teaching in school, I have tutored children internationally for several years, building long-term relationships with pupils and families. I’m friendly, patient and encouraging, and I particularly enjoy helping children discover that learning can be something they enjoy rather than fear. I’m also currently completing a Master’s in Inclusive Education, reflecting my continued commitment to developing as an educator.

I am a qualified primary school teacher with QTS and several years of classroom and private tutoring experience. I have taught across the primary age range and provide personalised tuition in English, Maths and 11+ preparation.
My lessons are supportive, engaging and carefully tailored to each child. I begin by identifying their strengths, areas for development and confidence levels, then plan lessons that address gaps while providing appropriate challenge. I use clear modelling, guided practice, questioning and independent application to help children truly understand what they are learning rather than simply memorising methods.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although shorter sessions can be arranged for younger children. I teach primary-aged pupils across KS1 and KS2, including children who need additional support, those working at age-related expectations and pupils who would benefit from greater challenge.
I offer English tuition covering reading, comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, spelling and creative writing, alongside Maths tuition focusing on fluency, arithmetic, reasoning and problem-solving. I can also provide structured 11+ preparation in English, Maths and verbal reasoning, as well as SATs preparation.
Above all, I aim to create a positive environment where children feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and challenging themselves. My goal is to build both academic ability and confidence so that pupils become increasingly independent learners
