About Iram
I have taught English on a one-to-one basis and to small groups for many years now at both upper primary and secondary level, having qualified as a teacher in 1998. I am currently teaching a group of students online via Zoom and also have several international students preparing to take the Cambridge iGCSE First Language English exams in June 2022.
Sharing my enthusiasm for English with students and helping them to achieve exam success is hugely rewarding. I have three children of my own, who have always been home schooled and achieved excellent academic results, (A* and A grades), in a wide range of subjects with my support. My eldest daughter achieved an A* in the Cambridge IGCSE English exams a few years ago with a percentage uniform mark of 97%.

I believe students are inspired by committed, enthusiastic teaching and enjoy teaching a wide range of ages. I use Zoom and Google Classroom to introduce students to key skills and use a mixture of methods, including presentations using slides, reading, analysis and discussion to develop knowledge and understanding. Lessons are weekly or twice weekly and typically 1-1.5 hours long, depending on the age and level of the learner. Concepts are introduced during lessons and I provide a range of resources, including audio-visual material, quizzes and links to websites to consolidate and reinforce learning. I usually set a weekly homework assignment, which I provide feedback on, so students can identify areas to focus on.
