About Silpa
I am a qualified secondary Science teacher with **QTS and a specialism in Physics**, with teaching experience since 2021. I have taught Physics, Chemistry and Biology across KS3 and KS4 in a variety of educational settings, including academies, independent schools and private tuition.
I have experience teaching **GCSE and iGCSE specifications across different examination boards**, including both Combined Science and Separate/Triple Science. This has given me a strong understanding of the curriculum, assessment requirements and the different approaches pupils need to succeed in Science.
As a practising teacher, I understand that every pupil learns differently. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where pupils feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their confidence.
I am professional, patient and committed to helping each pupil make meaningful progress. Whether a pupil is struggling with the foundations of Science, preparing for an important assessment or aiming for a higher GCSE/iGCSE grade, I adapt my support to their individual needs and goals.
My aim is to help pupils become more confident, independent learners who not only improve their examination performance but also develop a stronger understanding and appreciation of Science.

As a qualified Science teacher with QTS and a Physics specialism, I provide personalised and engaging tuition in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for KS3 and KS4 students.
My teaching approach starts with identifying each student's strengths, areas for improvement and any gaps in their knowledge. I then tailor lessons to their individual needs and learning pace. I break difficult scientific concepts into simple, manageable steps, using clear explanations, diagrams, real-life examples and worked examples to build understanding and confidence.
Throughout each lesson, I use targeted questioning and regular checks for understanding to make sure students are following before moving on. For GCSE and iGCSE students, I focus strongly on exam technique, scientific vocabulary, calculations, required practicals and applying knowledge to exam-style questions. I also use past papers and mark schemes to help students understand how to gain marks and improve the quality of their answers.
A typical lesson is 60 minutes and includes explanation and modelling, guided practice, independent questions and feedback. Lessons can be adapted depending on the student's needs and upcoming assessments.
