About Tadiwa

I have 4 years of tutoring experience in Capetown. I have a background in Construction Studies at the University of Cape Town with a strong academic background in Mathematics, Sciences, and English, offering structured tutoring for learners following both Cambridge, IEB and CAPS curricula.

I specialise in helping students strengthen their understanding of core concepts, improve problem-solving ability, and build confidence in applying what they learn in exams and assessments. My approach is focused, patient, and structured—starting with identifying knowledge gaps, then building a clear learning plan tailored to each learner’s needs and academic level.

Having worked with learners across different levels, I understand that many students struggle not because they lack ability, but because they need the right method of explanation and consistent academic support. My goal is to simplify difficult concepts and guide learners toward measurable improvement in both performance and confidence.

Each lesson is designed to be interactive and practical, focusing on understanding rather than memorisation. I also provide support with homework, test preparation, and exam revision strategies to ensure learners are well prepared and independent in their studies.

Whether your child needs help catching up, maintaining strong results, or preparing for exams, I aim to provide consistent academic support that leads to real progress.

I also previously ran and organised a tutoring club at the University of Cape Town.I have also taught English as a second language to foreign students in Japan with great success. I look forward to aiding students achieve their academic goals.

About the lesson

A Student focused approach is used with emphasis on a rounded understanding. Students can expect a lesson where they are comfortable to be inquisitive and learn.

Each lesson is structured to ensure the learner gains both understanding and confidence in the subject matter. I begin by identifying the student’s current level and any knowledge gaps through short diagnostic questions or review exercises. This allows me to tailor the lesson to their specific needs rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

Lessons are focused on breaking down complex topics into simple, understandable steps, with an emphasis on real understanding rather than memorisation. I encourage active participation, where learners are guided through examples and then given practice questions to apply what they’ve learned.

Depending on the learner’s needs, lessons may include: Concept revision and strengthening fundamentals Homework and assignment support Exam preparation and revision planning Practice questions with step-by-step guidance Study techniques and exam strategy support For Cambridge, IEB and CAPS learners, lessons are aligned with the relevant syllabus to ensure school work, tests, and exams are fully covered.

My approach is structured but flexible, ensuring each learner progresses at a pace that builds confidence while steadily improving academic performance. I was a top achiever in high-school so can easily help navigate my students on how to achieve the same.
