About Sage

Hello! My name is Sage and I have been teaching swim lessons for 7 years. When I was 5 I was enrolled into swim lessons and by the time I was 10 I was competing in many swim meets. With all of those I have worked hard and had an opportunity to make college nationals and when I was younger state swim meets. My main event was the 500 freestyle and 100 butterfly, but I also competed in the 200IM. I've taught all ages from babies to adults how to swim. I have experience in learn to swim lessons, safety survival lessons, triathlons, technique work along with teaching competition level students.

I have always had a passion for teaching others and giving them an opportunity to learn at a pace that best suits them. I love giving and being given feedback on how I can improve to better suit your needs, along with giving you the knowledge I have learned through my personal experience. I am excited to work with you!

About the lesson

I have many years of experience with lessons. I have been swimming since I was 5 years old and have been teaching lessons for 7 years. In 2021 I was voted swim instructor of the year. Teaching for so long I have had the opportunity to work with many different people, teach different ways and find the best way I am able to support you or your child. I am currently studying education which helps expand my horizons to best support what is needed of me.

I have taught students of all ages and many different types of students. I have worked with students to improve a specific technical skill, help with creating a needed lap swim work out, I have helped students get over their fear of the water and much more. Along with many ages I have experience with students of different abilities whether it is physical or mental, I have taught students on the Autism spectrum, ADHD, cerebral palsy, and so on.

I believe in teaching students on their own pace and working slowly if needed to work on trusting the water so they are able to progress more efficiently in the future. My goal with swim lessons is to reach your goal. One of my greatest strengths is communication along with the why behind skills I am teaching.

I am currently certified in two different swim lesson programs. I also have experience with teaching in a regular classroom. I am currently a student going to college for teaching and have learned many ways to communicate and aid students to their own level.

My first lesson will not only be free but is also used to test where my student currently is and go over your goals for your lessons. For children, parent communication is key and it will happen every lessons. We will discuss what we did during the lesson, how it helped, questions are encouraged and what I plan to work on the next lesson.
