About James

I am a qualified and experienced primary teacher with a passion for helping children become confident, independent and successful learners. As a current classroom teacher, I have extensive experience supporting children across the primary age range in English and Math.

I understand that every child learns differently, so I take the time to get to know each student and identify their individual strengths, needs and areas for development. My lessons are carefully planned, engaging and adapted to suit each child’s learning style and ability.

I aim to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and challenging themselves. Whether a child needs additional support, wants to strengthen their understanding or would benefit from greater challenge, I provide structured lessons designed to help them make meaningful progress.

About the lesson

I am a qualified and experienced primary teacher with classroom experience teaching children across the primary age range. I offer personalised English and Maths tutoring for children from Year 1 to Year 6.

My approach is friendly, supportive and tailored to each child’s individual needs. I begin by identifying the child’s strengths and areas for development, allowing me to plan lessons that target specific learning gaps while building confidence and independence.

Lessons are interactive and engaging, using a combination of questioning, practical activities, visual resources, worked examples and targeted practice. I adapt my teaching style to suit each child and use regular assessment to monitor progress and adjust future lessons.

Lessons typically last 60–90 minutes, depending on the child’s age, needs and concentration level. I can support children with their schoolwork, strengthen key English and Maths skills, prepare for assessments and develop confidence with challenging areas.

My lessons are suitable for primary-aged children from Year 1 to Year 6, including children who would benefit from additional support, consolidation or extension beyond their classroom learning.
