About Claire

With over thirty years of teaching experience, I have a profound commitment to ensuring every pupil I work with fulfils their potential and moves to the next phase of their education with the skills and confidence necessary to succeed.
Children need to feel valued and secure and therefore reliability is very important to me. Although I am always flexible to the needs of pupils (it is important to me that lessons only take place when pupils feel well and motivated), I take my role as a tutor very seriously and ensure my availability for students to maintain progress and confidence.

About the lesson

I am a highly experienced primary teacher and offer individualised learning to boost confidence, enhance skills and make sure pupils enjoy learning. With considerable tutoring experience, I can offer general learning support to help pupils overcome gaps in education. Additionally, I have many years of experience in Year 6 and have successfully prepared many children for 11 Plus examinations and SATs.
With a CELTA qualification and experience as an EAL coordinator, I am familiar with the needs of pupils who are new to English and can support SEN pupils at secondary school.
Qualifications:
B.A. (Hons.) English Language
PGCE (Junior Education)
CELTA (Cambridge Certificate for the Teaching of English to Adults)
Although I prefer face-to-face teaching, I am also available for online learning. Experience suggests one hour is the optimal time for lessons but I am flexible and work in an personalised manner depending on the needs of the pupil.
I am available in the North Leicestershire / South Nottinghamshire area.
