About YVONNE
I am a primary school teacher with 13 years experience. So, I understand that each student is different and that means I need to get to know my students so I can engage their interests in learning. That means find a way to make learning fun or at least interesting, for my student..
What's the point of learning? I believe it is to know what to do when you need to find out or figure out a problem. So, I'll teach you what you need to know but also what to do if you're not sure because teachers aren't always going to be around, especially in tests!
I want to teach you to be a better student and use what you've learned whenever you need it, not just in the classroom or in a test.

What's the point of learning? I believe it is to know what to do when you need to find out or figure out a problem. So, I'll teach you what you need to know but also what to do if you're not sure because teachers aren't always going to be around, especially in tests!
I use practical resources so, students can visually see how the concepts work to solve a problem, then move onto more abstract problem solving (that's where the problem is represented by pictures and numbers). Problems are usually based on real life problems so, if I can replicate or demonstrate that, I will.
There are games to consolidate knowledge that needs to be learnt so memorising and practising is fun.
There will be example test questions for practise and together with the student, we analyse how to improve our performance in these situations (if that is what is required)
It all depends on what the students need.
