  • 1. When did you first develop a passion for music and your favourite instrument?

My passion for music began at the age of six, when the piano quickly became my favourite instrument. I was fascinated by how a single instrument could express an entire orchestra of colours and emotions. I also loved accompanying my tween sister, a violinist, which helped me develop a deep sense of musical collaboration from an early age.
I started my musical journey at a local music school and later continued my studies at the professional boarding music high school Ciprian Porumbescu. There, surrounded by talented students and inspiring teachers, I built a strong foundation that shaped me both as a musician and as a future educator.
  • 2) Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

2). Yes—certain composers never lose their magic for me. Beethoven, for his depth, strength, and humanity; Rachmaninoff, for his emotional richness and expressive power; and Chopin, for his poetry, refinement, and intimate connection with the piano. I can return to their music endlessly and always discover new layers of meaning. Their works continue to inspire both my teaching and my personal musical growth.
  • 3) Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

One of the most challenging yet fascinating courses I could offer is developing true musical interpretation beyond the notes. This includes tone production, phrasing, harmonic awareness, stylistic authenticity, and emotional storytelling. Many students can play correctly, but learning how to say something meaningful through music is a deeper, more demanding journey—and incredibly rewarding.
  • 4) What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

I believe the piano is among the most complex instruments to master. It requires complete independence and coordination of both hands, advanced polyphonic thinking, refined touch, and a deep understanding of harmony and structure. The technical and intellectual demands are immense, but that is also what makes it endlessly fascinating.
  • 5) What are your keys to success?

My keys to success are discipline, patience, and consistency, combined with a genuine love for teaching. I find great joy in helping students make real progress and in inspiring a lifelong love of the piano. Every student is unique, so I adapt my teaching to suit their individual learning style.
Passion is essential, but it must be paired with smart practice, long-term planning, and a strong professional foundation. I also bring a unique approach that combines the precision of the Russian school with the expressiveness of the European tradition, giving my students a well-rounded musical education.
  • 6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning.

Explain why. I would love to meet Beethoven, for his strength, depth, and revolutionary spirit; Katia Buniatsvili, for her extraordinary expressiveness and emotional intensity; and always my piano teacher, Natalia Ostashko. She is not only a remarkable pianist and musician, but also a true personality with whom I always enjoy having inspiring conversations, she always inspire me.
I imagine that talking with them would be deeply stimulating, full of passion, insights, and the kind of energy that only great musicians can share.
  • 7)Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

During my high school years, I was surrounded by many exceptionally talented musicians. One story that stayed with me involved a piano exam. To keep exams shorter, examiners often skipped the repeat section (repriza) in sonatas, so some students didn’t always prepare it.
During a Beethoven sonata performed from memory, one classmate realized the examiners were not stopping at the repeat. Instead of panicking, she continued and improvised the repeat section on the spot. The story quickly spread throughout the school and left a strong impression on me.
It taught me that true musicianship is not only about preparation, but also about musical understanding, creativity, and presence of mind—qualities I now encourage in my students.
  • 8) What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

I combine a strong classical foundation with warmth, empathy, and modern teaching flexibility. I focus not only on technique, but on confidence, musical understanding, and enjoyment. Having taught for many years in London, I adapt easily to different cultures, ages, and goals—whether a student wants to pass exams, perform confidently, or simply reconnect with music as a source of joy.
