About Eva

I'm a Civil Engineer from Ireland and now living in Nelson. I grew up surrounded by music at home, my mother a harp and voice teacher and my father an Irish trad musicians. But the piano has always my passion. I achieved my grade 6 exam and after that I learnt pieces for myself, setting myself goals of piano competitions and practicing towards sharing music with an audience. After that, I worked as pianist in a 5 star hotel in Ireland for many summers. This allowed me to expand my repertoire and play all genres of music from classical, neo-classical, jazz, and pop.

I believe everyone can find their voice in an instrument and I would love to share that passion so others can enjoy the gift that is music :)

About the lesson

I've been playing piano as long as I can remember and have been lucky to learn from some amazing pianist and teachers. The best lesson I learnt from my favourite teacher was to learn a piece you love because that will help you stay committed to achieving your piano goals by enjoying your practice.

My teaching style will be one that will suit you and what you would like to gain from the learning the piano. I have a relaxed approach to teaching and would love to share an understanding of music through the piano. We could learn some pop songs together, classical pieces or some easy jazz. My goal is to make you enjoy playing and practicing!

We can set some goals together, have some fun and enjoy exploring the wonderful world of music :)
