About Darren
I'm a certified physics and mathematics teacher with over 13 years of tutoring experience working with high school students. I offer one-on-one online tutoring via Zoom in Physics, Algebra, Geometry, Pre-calculus, Calculus, and SAT/ACT Math prep.
I know how overwhelming math and physics can feel — especially when the pressure of grades and standardized tests is building. My job is to cut through the confusion, fill in the gaps, and give students the tools and confidence they need to succeed. I've helped hundreds of students go from frustrated to genuinely capable, and I bring that same focus and patience to every single session.

I don't believe in one-size-fits-all instruction. Every student learns differently, so I take the time to understand how each person thinks before deciding how to teach them. Sessions are structured but relaxed — I want students to feel comfortable asking "simple questions" because those are usually the most important ones.
What You Can Expect:
- A diagnostic approach — I find the gaps first, then we fix them
- Real practice problems matched to your exact course or test
- Clear, step-by-step explanations without unnecessary jargon
- Honest progress feedback after every session
- Flexible scheduling around your student's busy life
What a Typical Session Looks Like:
- First 5 minutes — we review what happened since our last session. Homework struggles, quiz results, anything that came up in class
- Next 40 minutes — targeted instruction and guided problem solving on the current challenge, with me gradually stepping back as the student gains footing
- Final 15 minutes — the student solves problems independently while I observe. This is where real learning gets confirmed
