About Arash

Hello, I’m Dr. Arash Ardalan, a PhD-qualified Tutor/Lecturer and private tutor specialising in Mathematics and Statistics.

I began private tutoring while studying for my undergraduate degree, and it quickly became a passion. Seeing students’ confidence grow as they understood Maths for the first time inspired me to continue teaching throughout my Master’s, PhD, and academic career.

With over 20 years of experience teaching students from GCSE and A-Level to university level, I’ve helped learners of all abilities — from those aiming to pass their exams to those striving for Grades 6–9 or A/A* — reach their full potential.

My goal is to make Maths clear, logical, and enjoyable, helping every student learn with confidence and build lasting understanding.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is built on one simple belief — Maths and Statistics are best learned through understanding, not memorisation.

In every lesson, I explain new ideas using simple language, visuals, and real-life examples so students can see how concepts truly work. Whether it’s algebra, calculus, or probability, I always connect abstract ideas to something tangible — from games and data to everyday problem-solving.

Lessons are calm, structured, and supportive. We start by reviewing previous topics to strengthen foundations, then move step by step into new material. I encourage questions at every stage — because when students feel comfortable, they learn faster and retain more.

Each session combines:

Concept clarity: understanding the “why” behind each method.

Guided examples: solving problems together before independent practice.

Confidence building: celebrating progress and turning weaknesses into strengths.

Over time, my students develop not only stronger exam results but also genuine confidence and independence in their learning. Many who once struggled now tell me they actually enjoy Maths!

My rate varies depending on the level of study and lesson type:

GCSE: from £35/hour

A-Level: from £40/hour

University / Statistics: from £45–£50/hour

For long-term students or intensive packages (for example, reviewing all GCSE topics in 10 sessions), I offer flexible and negotiable pricing.

All rates include preparation time, personalised materials, feedback after lessons, and ongoing progress support. The first session is free, so we can discuss your goals and design a plan that fits your needs and budget.
