About Alecia
I am a current PhD student studying the applications of both immunology, and biochemistry. Our lab also uses complex bioinformatics algorithms to develop predictions about immune cells! I have a profound love of science itself, and feel that the application of topics helps ingrain teaching more than strictly listening to lectures. I have previously been a tutor in my undergraduate, typically assisting non-science majors in general sciences classes and joined study groups to help my peers in the more rigorous courses (biochemistry, organic chemistry, etc.)

I am very much a visual learner and teacher. I believe in application-based learning to better grasp and understand topics. I am a current PhD student working in a lab specializing in immunology and biochemistry. Previously in my undergraduate studies, I was a pre-medicine and biology major who completed the MCAT and many different MCAT prep courses. I was granted admission into medical school but changed routes to a PhD when I realized my love for the lab! I can help assist in a variety of different courses (general and higher level), additionally I have expertise in graduate applications having gone through both PhD and MD applications. My goal is to teach college-level students and beyond, but I can also help in some 9-12 grade science and math courses as well!
