I’m Kate - a friendly and passionate Mathematics tutor with over 15 years of experience. I hold a degree in Mathematics and a PhD in Medical Statistics, and I’m here to make math easier, more approachable and even enjoyable! Whether you're gearing up for NCEA exams or just need support with tricky topics, I’ll guide you every step of the way. Your first lesson is completely free, giving us a great chance to get to know each other and for me to understand your goals, so I can tailor lessons to suit your needs. - Over 15 years experience tutoring students aged 11–18 across NCEA and University-level Mathematics. - Specialist in algebra, calculus, geometry and statistics. - Proven track record of helping students improve grades, build confidence, and overcome math anxiety. - Real-world insight as a professional statistician - I bring math to life by showing how it’s used beyond the classroom. - Experienced with a wide range of learners - from those who need extra support to high-achievers aiming for excellence.

Here’s how I support your learning: - I break down complex ideas into simple, manageable steps, so nothing feels overwhelming - Lessons are always tailored to your learning style, with adjustments available for students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, autism or ADHD - I share practical tips for solving problems and managing exam stress with confidence - I create a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where questions are encouraged and no one feels judged I use a variety of engaging resources to support your learning: - Books – I draw on a range of textbooks and revision guides, and can recommend ones specific to your needs - Online Tools – I incorporate interactive platforms with video tutorials, exercises, and quizzes for independent practice - Videos – YouTube videos help reinforce tricky concepts with clear visuals and step-by-step explanations - Custom Worksheets – I design personalized worksheets and problem sets to target your unique goals and keep things engaging If something isn’t working for you, I’m always open to adapting my approach.
