About Otter
Experienced Oud & Oriental singing teacher for over 11 years, Lebanese, currently residing in Germany. I studied for 8 years at the Lebanese National Conservatory. I was a teacher at Casa Beethoven Academy in Lebanon and also offered private lessons. Additionally, I served as a concertmaster in the oriental orchestra "Loubnan Assalam" for more than 5 years. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Environment and Energy from Hochschule Rhein-Waal in Germany. I am fluent in English, Couramment en français, ولغتي الأم هي اللغة العربية. As a friendly and passionate teacher, I derive joy from witnessing my students' progress and enjoy playing duets with them. In our Oud class, I will guide you through everything from basic to advanced techniques. We will cover playing for all levels, correct left-hand use, synchronizing with the right hand, handling the pick, tuning the Oud, and effectively using a tuner and metronome. In the remaining time, we will dive into reading musical notes, starting with basic Solfege and progressing to advanced and oriental Solfege, including dictation exercises. This comprehensive approach ensures a well-rounded musical journey
My recommendation for learning the Oud is to begin by studying musical notes and notation before delving into songs. While some students prefer to jump straight into playing songs, understanding the fundamentals of music notation accelerates progress in the long run. Dedication and hard work can yield significant progress within a year, enabling you to play simple tunes.
