About Mitchelle
Hello! My name is Mitchelle Akinyi, and I am a dedicated online English tutor based in Nairobi, Kenya. I have over four years of teaching experience supporting learners of different ages and abilities, helping them develop their English skills in a patient, encouraging and engaging learning environment.
I believe that every learner is capable of making progress when they feel supported and confident. My goal is to create a comfortable space where students are not afraid to ask questions, make mistakes and grow at their own pace. I enjoy getting to know each learner and adapting my teaching to suit their individual goals and learning style.
In addition to my teaching experience, I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at the University of the People. This has strengthened my communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, which I bring into every lesson.

Every learner has different goals, which is why I tailor each lesson to your individual needs, learning style and pace. Whether you want to improve your conversational English, grammar, pronunciation, reading, writing or professional communication, I create engaging lessons that build both your skills and your confidence.
My teaching approach is patient, supportive and interactive. I encourage learners to speak as much as possible during lessons, using real-life conversations, practical exercises, role plays, reading activities and personalised feedback to help them make steady progress. I believe that mistakes are a natural part of learning and use them as opportunities for growth.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes and includes a review of previous learning, focused practice on new concepts, speaking activities and a summary with clear goals for the next lesson.
I have over four years of teaching experience supporting learners of different ages and abilities. I currently teach English online and continue to develop my knowledge while pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
My lessons are suitable for children, teenagers and adults, from beginners to more advanced learners.
