About Cheree

I am an experienced pianist with over a decade of playing experience, beginning my musical training at a young age. I offer structured, personalized piano lessons designed to build both technical skill and musical understanding.
My teaching approach balances practical playing with music theory, ensuring students develop strong foundational skills alongside confidence in performance. I tailor each lesson to the individual student’s goals, whether they are complete beginners or looking to refine existing skills.
As a tutor, I prioritize patience, clear communication, and professionalism. I provide a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to progress at their own pace while still being challenged to grow.
I am reliable, well-prepared for each lesson, and committed to helping students achieve consistent improvement.

About the lesson

Music is such a beautiful and fun subject, but sometimes it can feel difficult and foreign. Through a soft, patient approach, I aim to help young students unlock their passion. I have been playing piano for 12 years. I have moved on to playing violin in the Waikato Symphony Orchestra on occasion, but piano has always been my passion. I am not pursuing music through university; however, I can provide references to confirm my competency. I played piano for my NCEA assessments and achieved very high academic standards.

Details

Travel costs CAP OUT at $20 (unless needing to travel outside of Hamilton), smaller distances are likely to sit between $10-15.

First lesson is free but by no means does it need to be a full hour! Absolutely more than happy to do less than 60 minutes, I also offer 30 minute lessons and 45 minute lessons.
