About Charlotte
Hello there! I graduated from high school in 2018 with a 95.75 ATAR, having completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma. I achieved a 6/7 in English HL, Biology HL, Psychology HL, Chemistry SL, French SL and a 5/7 in Mathematics SL. I received an A in Theory of Knowledge also. With my experience, I hope to help students achieve their best with effective study skills in their VCE/IB exams.
I have been a tutor for over three years through volunteer and paid capacities. I tutor students with various cultural backgrounds and educational levels. I love being able to help 'connect the dots' for my students and see their knowledge and skill in English expand.

My teaching method takes three steps:
1. Guided practice. This is where we discuss, demonstrate and work through examples. I will explain concepts and demonstrate the best approach to answering questions.
2. Independent practice. I set the student another question and ask them to complete it without prompting or guidance. This is to help me see whether they have understood the concept and we can move on, or if we need to do more guided practice.
3. The 'how it works' test. This is the most important step, and one that many tutors leave out! I ask the student to explain the concept that we have just been working on to me. The student being able to explain 'how it works' shows their lateral thinking and assimilation of the knowledge we've been working on.
